Freedom to Ride

From the Prez....

Madam Pres

HAPPY 10th ANNUAL SNOW RONDY!!

The Snow Rondy is March 6th at Chena Lakes Recreational Area. This will be the 10th year so we have coerced John into another pig roast. We will be joined by the Fun Lions, the Northern Lights Club, a couple of the volunteer fire departments, some of our local vendors and of course, the great crew at the Corp of Engineers. We will have most of the usual events, kids rides, the drag races, Tired Iron show and shine, kids drags, vintage drags along with a few new ones. Due to lack of snow, there won´t be a snow cross track. Check it out here on the website Still need volunteers to step up and lend a hand with the events, you can post a note letting us know who you are and how to contact you.

I am waiting patiently to read Paul´s ride report from Maclaren. He has teased us with a "the ride was good, no great" comment and then left us with "it will be in the newsletter". I am totally jealous of those of you that went on the ride, I have at least one more week before I can put any weight on my foot, riding is out for awhile yet.

I received an email in regards to HB 267, concerning the Dalton Highway area. This bill has to do with snowmachines being used in the pipeline corridor. Rep. Kelly is looking for support and would like letters from people that use the area.

The Iron Dog is over for another year. Congratulations to Chris Olds and Tyler Huntington on "surviving" the trail this year. . Tyler is a local guy and it´s great to have one of our own cross the finish line in the front. The reports along the trail went from no snow to slides to one machine winding up in the Bering Sea. Less than half of the teams that started made it to the finish line.

We still have time for some good riding, get out and do your snow dance. We hope to see everyone at the Rondy, Ride safe.

Ms. Prez,
Jody
