Hummmmm This could be a good start? I'm one of the guys that has been sparing with you for years on the outdoors forum. There is a mountain range of difference between the north and the south both figuratively and actually. Cudos to Steve for representing some of my views.

Sunday the 12th is our scheduled Sweetheart run. It's one of the best local ride's of the season.

Plan is to leave Chena Pump Landing at 9:30 AM.

This is a great family ride and should be excellent this year. The temps are predicted to be in the "above" range, of course that can change in a day :<)

Trail wind blown in spots but drifts not rock hard yet. + 20 or better up top and still windy. Seen people, walking etc. So look out for people and dog teams this weekend.

We headed out for a couple Hrs to try out our new christmas cold weather gear. Flats are great with about 8-12in of fresh powder.
Little bit of overflow on the west side of river where you cut over to the slough by the cabin but its easily avoided. Had a great time even at a
solid -20 below.

New Trail Maps and Data

I've uploaded a couple new trail maps and data.

One is a loop ride from Murphy Dome along the Chatanika and back to Murphy Dome.

The other is the trail(s) to Beaver Point Lodge on Deadman Lake and on to Manly.

Quick note on the bike trails. In the Winter some of the Bike Trails are fair game for snowmachines, but some are not. They should be well marked.

Always use caution when using them. There are many pedestrians and skiers.

Also be aware that dog mushers also use many different trails. Something to look at is the tracks on the trail. Dog sleds are two runners about 2-3" wide and about 24" apart.

We woke up to -28 this morning here on the hill, as it started to get light, -30. NOAA says: NEW YEARS DAY...INCREASING CLOUDS. PATCHY ICE FOG. HIGHS 15 TO
30 BELOW. LIGHT WINDS, doesn't sound like a fun day to ride, especially on the river....sorry guys, News Years ride cancelled.
