Re: 4th of july atv trip
We went up Valdez Creek last summer. A lot of mining activity there. None of it was blocked and we did go all the way to Roosevelt Lake. We also went up Windy Creek. It is the next creek east of Valdez Creek. It starts in a gravel pit where you can camp about a mile east of the Susitna River Bridge....

Re: Why did I put the machine up for summer?
Looks like the forecast is changing for a lot less snow, although the winter weather warning is still up. We went 4-wheeling this past week to Donnelly, Coal Mine Road and Mile 1408. Absolutely no snow down there. Got the rigs fairly muddy but didn't find anything real challenging. Put on 40 miles. ...

Fairbanks Creek Road plowed.
DOT plowed the Fairbanks Creek Road a couple of days ago. Must be Spring. Haven’t been out to the Circle Trailhead so don’t know if they cleared the turn around and parking there or not.

DNR off-road vehicle restrictions at Skiland
I received a letter from DNR to all us residents up here at Skiland. It describes the restrictions of off-road vehicles here at the ski area. These restrictions only apply to 3 or 4 of the groomed down hill ski runs that cross state land here. About 50 acres. These restrictions do not apply to any o...

Re: Cleary Summit to Chatanika Lodge
We've moved a Tucker Groomer to Chatanika to supplement the LMC that is stationed there. It and the LMC have groomed the Chatanika/Elliot Highway Trail and it is wide and smooth. I have recently groomed the Cleary Summit/Chatanika, Red Trail, and it is in good shape as well. Ronnie and Gary are groo...

The miner pulled some snow back onto one side of the Fairbanks Creek Road and Ronnie groomed it so all is well up here now.

Re: Dec 19th Ride
Thank you for the report Chuck. It looks like the Ride for tomorrow is canceled due to lack of a ride leader  I will be working on a new machine I just bought. Get with Stoney at the Chatanika lodge for some riding! I had a hernia repaired a couple of weeks ago and am grounded unti...
