Summit is officially open for buisness

Went on Friday and it was amazing. Still had to be careful of rocks because the base isn't fully set up. Once we got to the tit there was 2 feet of powder. On the back side of the tit it was over the hood deep and sometimes handlebars deep. It was a good day to be riding a 163 track! Here is a quick...

Re: First Ride

Went to Summit on Sunday. The trail in to the hill is scraping rocks quite a bit, once you get up there its maybe knee deep to the dirt. The light was flat so we went to the tit and stopped halfway up when it became hard to see. After sittin there for a few a group of guys came out towing a nice loo...

Re: First Ride

That definitely looks like the back side of the tit, but was it really taken when it was claimed to have been taken?

A buddy of mine wants to go take a look see on sunday, if I go i'll report my findings!

Cantwell is the place to be this year!

Summit sucks this year so far BUT! Cantwell on the other hand is getting awesome snow, some people say it hasn't been this good down there in a lot of years. The snow was up to my armpits in the trees yesterday! The forecast is calling for more snow this weekend too :) Did a test run on the new HD h...

Re: February 5-6 ride

For now that ride is still on. The Killer Smoke cafe has a new name and I am not sure they will be open, I will get in contact with the lodges there and see who would be open that we may be able to meet at. I will post as soon as I get news! It looks like the Cantwell Lodge is open: http://www.cant...

Caribou lake, whats the skinny on this ride?

Some guys are talking about riding out to Caribou lake, south of Cantwell. I read through and it sounds like some of the club members have been there in the past. Whats the verdict on this ride? Any description of the area would be a good start since I havent been there before. Snow depth, trees, bi...

Re: Thoughts of the new RMK so far

It took some doing to get me to buy into it. I was Arctic Cat thru and thru after my last sled, but from what I can tell the big three all have really good sleds this year. Ive heard the 2011 M8 got its suspension reworked to make it not beat you to death on the trail (the biggest complaint about th...

Thoughts of the new RMK so far

At first I was not sure the new sled was better than my 2010 M8 I rode last season. The M8 was and still is a tough sled to beat. Previously I only had 153s and the new sled is a 163 so quite a bit more track than I'm used to. The RMK feels like the motor is not as powerful as the M8 but part of tha...

Re: Cantwell this Saturday and Sunday

had a great time in Cantwell. Day one was tree riding and day two we went above the mine. Typically found 3-4ft of snow everywhere we went. The big hills above the mine were wind blown though, so we played on the lower hills below the mine.

Great time for sure!

Cantwell this Saturday and Sunday

Its time for me to break in the new RMK so I'm doing a 2 day ride this weekend in Cantwell. If anyone is interested in tagging along let me know. I will be getting a room at the backwoods lodge for Saturday night. Sounds like they have plenty of room available too. Right now its just me and one othe...
