Re: Anyone riding localy this weekend

Tanana river is now super smooth riding. Last weekend the wind blown snow filled in a lot of the sharp bumps and we keep getting a little more snow. I'll be out this weekend. Monday for the Iditarod, some folks are having a campfire down past Rosie creek by the old access trail. Iditarod should get ...

Re: Rivers

I've been on the tanana for a few weeks now, from Cushman down to bonanza creek, halfway to nenana. There are several open leads but there is a good trail that goes around pretty well. The last snowfall smoothed out the bumps and jumble ice pretty well. There are a lot of tracks up the chena but the...

Compeaus

Since there is no snow and the weather is above 0 we went in compeaus last weekend with atv's. We made it up to to top via the compeau trail below the fire line, made it one peak past the final marker and headed back via the fire line ridge trail. We had to break trail on the upper 1/3 or so and it ...

Tanana river

So the Tanana is opening up close to town due to the Chena, but further down the river is awesome. We got some snow last week and then some wind which covered every track, bump, and hole, the river is fresh and perfectly flat. I went to wood river last night and its the best riding I've seen on the ...

Re: Nome Creek

Do you guys have a good trail you follow at standard creek? I've never rode there before and was thinking about checking out this weekend. I assume you just follow old logging roads and maybe work up to the ridge lines.

Anyone ever connect up to Minto lakes from there?

Re: Suggestions for figuring out what machine to buy?

I would agree with most of what is said above, but a couple things to consider, comfort and price. I have ridden the skandic SWT and I personally did not like the pogo stick suspension, which i believe all Skandics and tundras have. The problem for me is that there is no sway bar, so when you park o...

Re: Memorial Day Weekend UpDate

We also went up the compeau trail and stayed last night at colorado creek cabin. Saturday was great with the sun out all day and damp trails to keep the dust down. This morning it started pouring down rain as soon as we left, the fog and clouds were thick at the peaks. Even with the rain and mud fly...
