Re: Denali StatePark
Forgive my ignorance here. But isnt the area around Cantwell west of the Parks considered Denali State Park?
Or is this talking about Petersville area?
Tell me where to drive for snow and I will go!!!

Re: Most snow?
Here is what one of the guys on the Alaska outdoors forum had to say about Petersville. Thats a long drive though. "'Rode P-ville yesterday (4 Dec). Parked near Gate Creek Cabins and played in the swamps near there and up towards the Reflector Tree. Carving snow nice throughout with somewhat of...

Re: Conditions South
Were you scraping rocks a lot on the way up? The forecast is calling for another 6-8 inches of snow by tomorrow for that area. I'm thinking of heading down this weekend. On another note, it sounds like Cantwell isnt bad now either. NOAA website is forecasting upwards of 30 inches in the next 48 hour...

Re: White Mountains
I took a friend of mine from work with me out to 42 mile Steese for a ride today. It was -22 at the trailhead but as soon as we got up top it was probably around 0 to 10 above. Snow was decent I guess, we weren't scraping skis like we did last week at Chatanika so that was nice. Then about 20 miles ...

White Mountains
After this last ride and seeing how the hills north of town got good snow I'm considering trailering out to davidson ditch to go into the White Mountains. Seems to me that if the snow is good you can get above the tree line there (if the wind hasn't blown it all off) and get some good riding in. I'v...

Re: WTB used sled tracks trailer traction
Yea I figured Al would have a track or two laying around but from what I can tell he closed his doors. I was over at Compeaus the other day and they had bought a bunch of Al's stuff saying he closed the sled shop. They said that Darbys got most of his stock items and Compeaus took the helmet/clothin...

WTB used sled tracks trailer traction
Does anyone know where I can get ahold of a track to put on my trailer for loading traction?
It drives me nuts when my sled slides off the trailer when loading it!!!

Re: SWM looking for powder
No I have not joined FST yet. Havent been out on a ride or been to a meeting or anything yet. But I would like to see about changing that. I should have gotten off my lazy can and gone to the last meeting but I haven't been motivated until now (the snow is finally here). Is tomorrows ride open to pe...

SWM looking for powder
Hello snow travelers! Ok, Im not single but I am looking for powder! Ok, seriously. Ive been looking at your forums since last Feb when I started becoming more serious about riding as a hobby. I used to only ride as a means of transportation for hunting/fishing, but after a few guys from w...
