Re: Nome Creek
Margaret and I drove to mile 57 Steese and up the US Creek Road to the top of the hill. That was as far as it had been plowed. There was a single lane starting down the other side toward Nome Creek but didn't look like it went very far. I suspect it is plowed all the way to Nome Creek by now. I unde...

Re: No end in sight!
I drove down this after noon. It's plowed about 7 miles in to a closed gate. The trail head and parking area was unplowed and looked completely rideable. Mike You can trailer to both places. The Trailhead at 2.6 mile or just his side of the gate where you can park and head up to the trail to the le...

Scandic F550 weird.
This happened when Marg and I rode to the Lodge last night. We ended up going home and I changed to my Summit. This machine has a transmission for going backwards. My Scandic F550 started something really weird yesterday. I had ridden several miles and stopped. The engine started quitting and starti...

Re: No end in sight!
Margaret and I rode to the Lodge last evening for dinner. Circle and Ridge Trails in great shape. Ridge to ditch a bit rough, ditch to Chatanika fine. I suspect the Whites up US Creek Road into Nome Creek should be great. We haven't had any wind since this new 8 inches came. Chuck http://www.snowtra...

Delorme has just released their latest version of the inReach, the inReach SE. Apparently this one has the send and receive and texting functions built into it.

I carry a Delorme inReach http://www.inreachdelorme.com/product-info/inreach-smartphone.php with me every where we go. When I am alone I run it in tracking mode so it reports my location every 10 minutes. Anyone with with the address of my page on their website can follow me. It will also send pre-p...

Hey D,Darrell wrote:It could stay like this for couple of months I hate summer.
Come up here, we've gotten 2 or 3 new inches today. Marg and I drove to 12 Mile Summit yesterday. Not a single open spot on the Chatanika. The US Creek Road looks quite good for sledding.

Re: Summit anyone?
We are just going for Saturday if weather permits. And was hoping to park down on the pad they had all plowed out for the camping area for arctic man. Hopefully it hasn't snowed and blown in too much! That was our plan for our first night down there last Thursday. We stopped at the Richardson Monum...

Re: Summit anyone?
It's 23 above and blowing and snowing hard up here on Cleary. Sunday and Monday were the best two days of riding we're ever had at Summit. Sunday we rode north on the pipe from Waters Edge and rode in the Hoodoos east of Isabel. We followed the race course to the start and then played our way back t...
