Nenana comission trail

#1 Post by Darrell »

Seen lots of bellie dumps going in and out of 10th ave toward Nenana river impact on trail unknown, anyone going that way down the parks could you swing in and give us a report.

A friend of mine has been communicating with DOT people as well as the people in charge of the graders and dumps.

The issue that we were running into is the fact that getting to the trail head requires driving across large berms and gravel roads for lengthy periods.

Evidently someone put in a bridge on the "old" trail which is just off to the left of the road as you get across the Nenana river. There used to be a bridge there, but it was gone 4 weeks ago. So it is nice to hear that it was put back in place. I've not heard what the bridge is like, and I'd have to go check it out before hauling any heavy load.

Not sure what the condition of the road is to get to the commissioner lines, but at least there is an alternative now.

BTW - They are sticking to the road and the building site. The trails are pretty much the same as always. If the road is ride-able by snowmachine, it does cut off a lot of time getting to them.

What 's up with trucks and stuff? Looking for gas? Have a man camp in there some where?

They did a lot of gas exploration over in that area. There is a facility built back in there now.
