DNR off-road vehicle restrictions at Skiland

#1 Post by cleary »

I received a letter from DNR to all us residents up here at Skiland. It describes the restrictions of off-road vehicles here at the ski area. These restrictions only apply to 3 or 4 of the groomed down hill ski runs that cross state land here. About 50 acres.

These restrictions do not apply to any of the places we ride or sled up here on Cleary Summit.

The riding up here is good as is the red trail to Chatanika. The new Cleary Summit to Gilmore Dome bypass trail that Fort Knox put in to get around the mine is in great shape as well.

Good sledding,

Chuck

Me, Darrell Bohn and Kerry Barnes rode on the mine bypass road today, Jan. 30th. The bypass trail from Gilmore Dome Trail to the gate they put up is tore up by some 4wheel drive rig. It really is sad. Stoney.
