Hi John!
Tom and I would be interested in a ride. We missed last Sat. and are ready to ride. I would prefer 10ish as opposed to 9ish cause work Friday night.... Anne & Tom Siebels
He was going to put a pic on his profile but not sure how. Any advice?

Great,

Any preference as to where ? I was thinking Nordale/Winter Trail and then head towards Pleasent Valley or ??

I'm open to suggestions.

10:00 AM works for me. There is a good sized pull out on Nordale for parking.

For his profile pic, log-n and go to User Control Panel, select Profile, select Edit Avatar.

Profiles images have limitations, these are width: 125 pixels, height: 160 pixels, file size: 25.53 KiB.

You all can call me at work during the day until 3:00 @ 459-1153

Not sure if you know where Nordale is ?

Take the Steese towards Fox, exit Chena Hot Springs Roads and head towards the Chena Rec Area to about 7 mile Chena Hot Springs Road (CHSR), turn right on Nordale Road (only way you can turn) and go about 2 miles, you'll see a large pull out on the left.

There's a big loading ramp in the parking area. I'll be there around 9:45 or so.

I have to be back to my rig by 4:00 for a dinner engagement Saturday. Tom and Anne are great folks and you all could ride longer if you want.

Well consider it considered...

We'll start at Nordale and hit the Winter Trail, if the snow is to skinny we'll head off the Winter Trail and maybe go toward Fish Creek and the mine. If the snow is decent, we'll head to Pleasent Valley and possible Angle Creek Lodge or at least in that direction.

Ride was great, snow was decent but a bit thin from Nordale until we got into the Chena Rec area at mile 24 CHSR.

The trail starts about 1/2 mile north (toward CHSR) from the parking area.

I'm thinking about driving to Mile 25 or 26 CHSR and using the parking lot there to off load at next Saturday and then explore the Rec Area. Maybe try to make Angle Creek Lodge for lunch or just hit the Stiles Creek Cabin Loop and the Gravel Pit.

Of course the Whites might have more snow and could be a fun ride.

Pics in the photo gallery.

Ditch bagging is to hard on my old bones :) And that trail DOT put in is pretty brushy, or it was last time I rode it.

If you take a side trail, almost any one that heads south, get to the Winter Trail. Much better than the ditch and the DOT trail.
