If I missed anything just add to this thread please:

General Meeting - October 17, 2012 7:00 pm - Northern Power Sports

Shawn Osborn from Fort Wainwright came out. Setup permits and handed out brochures for traveling on Army land. In January they hope to switch to a new program and vendor for their call in system.

Treasurer report: $359 in checking (- $180 for post office yearly fee)
$2,984.22 - Savings

$1,254.40 - lifetime membership savings

SnowTRAC discussion - Steve Enoch is a member of SnowTrac and he attended the meeting in August. He reported for the second year in a row there was an annual shortall. There were two approved grants, Iron Dog and North America Outdoor Institute (NAOI.) $200,000 was left in the grooming pool to pay for trail grooming and associated items. Steve is the only interior representative. Only two interior grooming applications were submitted - one by the DNR for Chena River State Recreation Area and the Yukon Quest. Both were late submitting their applications. Snowmachine registration is down, however more money is coming from the interior, but most money is not being used here. Steve recommended contacting representatives in the legislature to encourage better use of money (such as trail upkeep and creation.)

SnowTravelers annual Swap meet is Saturday, October 20th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the parking lot near Sportsman’s Warehouse. The UAF Clean Snowmachine Club plans on being there as well.

John Johnston is on the Iron Dog board and needs volunteers to help with marking trails.

Serum Run still looking for snowmachiners Heather will post info on http://www.snowtravelers.org

Steve would like to get a group together to do the Trek over the top (http://www.trekoverthetop.com/) - more info will be posted on www.snowtravelers.org

Rick sold Relay for life raffle tickets.

Crystal announced that information for the newsletter has a deadline of the first of the month.

Sean Osborn also told us about the by-pass they made around the downed trees on the Bonnifield Trail. They have essentially created a new trail on the east side of Clear Creek Butte that connects with the Bonnifield on the north and south ends of the Butte.
