Meeting took place at Pikes Landing on 12/06/2018 at 6:05pm. Board members John, Steve, Stoney, Dan and Nathan Stephan (newsletter editor) were present.
Nathan Stephan has volunteered to be the Fairbanks Snow Travelers newsletter editor. Our hope is to have a monthly newsletter during the winter months. Trip leaders need to submit pictures and a summary of the ride.
No rides have happened to date due to lack of snow. The first ride of the season is to take place this weekend called the “hilltop loop”.
Finance report: $4940 total in all accounts. A $10,000 foundation donation will be given to the club in the upcoming months. The board will decide where to spend it, or to put it in savings.
Steve will process all new membership applications. The club’s business license is due by the end of the month.
Need to finalize the date for avalanche training. There could be up to 80 persons in attendance from various outdoor winter groups.
The club owns two Polaris 120cc snow machines. These machines are about six years old, but have not been ridden in the past four years. The board has decided to sell these machines for $1,500 each. They will be taken to Northern Power Sports or the Boat Shop, to be sold on consignment.
Dan has volunteered to be the contact person for the BLM White mountains area. BLM will call if they need us to break a trail after a heavy snowfall, or brushed the trail. This will enable BLM to have more time on their groomers to smooth out the trails. In turn, the club members will have free use of a cabin while on the trails, during weekdays.
