The Fairbanks snow travelers owns two 120cc Polaris snow machines that have not been rode in over 4 years. The board has decided to sell them for $1500 each. One of them is sold already. The other one is at Northern Power Sports being cleaned up for sell.
The avalanche class that is being planned for February or March 2019, may not happen. This would be a two-day class with the first day being inside and the second day being held outside. There was going to be no charge to current Fairbanks Snow Traveler members, but now the group teaching the class wants $125/person.
John Johnston, the current president of our club will have reduced duties for the near future. He has moved to a cabin and is living off the grid. Travel to our meetings would be limited due to distance from Fairbanks.
Board elections are next month. Steve gave a quick overview of the club and its past history.
Terry gave a presentation on what is currently happening in Cleary Summit. DNR is closing the trails to motorized vehicles around the ski land area. (This includes section lines). Signs have been posted. DNR is claiming safety issues for the trail closures. Information was handed out to members. (We need to get a copy with maps scanned into our website, and who to contact to voice our concerns).
