Snow Advisory for Fairbanks area (2/2-2/3)

I just saw this on National Weather Service webiste.
We'll see how much snow we get out of this one.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN FAIRBANKS HAS ISSUED A WINTER
WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT
TONIGHT TO MIDNIGHT AKST THURSDAY NIGHT.

SNOW BEGINNING LATER TONIGHT IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE THROUGH
THURSDAY NIGHT...THE LOCATION OF THE FRONT
WILL DETERMINE WHICH AREAS GET THE HIGHEST ACCUMULATIONS...

IT APPEARS THAT FAIRBANKS HAS A GOOD CHANCE OF BEING ALONG
THE LINE OF GREATEST SNOWFALL TOTALS....

PERIODS OF SNOW ARE EXPECTED TO BEGIN OVER THE MIDDLE TANANA
VALLEY TONIGHT AND CONTINUE THROUGH THURSDAY NIGHT.

ACCUMULATIONS OF UP TO 1 INCH TONIGHT...UP TO 3 INCHES THURSDAY...AND UP TO 2
INCHES THURSDAY NIGHT MAY BE EXPECTED.

So that all adds up to "up to 6", what ever happened to the good old snow dumpings we used to get? I guess 6" in a couple days is better than the rain we got earlier.

That was adissapointment as far as storms go.

I know. Where I live(in town) I only got 1 1/2 inch or so at the max out of the storm.

It is true sometimes that when they(the weather service) talk BIG, it doesn't seem to happen...

NOON AKST FRIDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN FAIRBANKS HAS ISSUED A WINTER
WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS
EVENING TO NOON AKST FRIDAY.

SNOW WILL DEVELOP THIS EVENING AND CONTINUE THROUGH FRIDAY
MORNING. A TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATION OF 3 TO 5 INCHES IS EXPECTED BY
NOON FRIDAY. LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS IN EXCESS OF 6 INCHES ARE
POSSIBLE ON THE HILLS. THE SNOW WILL TAPER OFF TO SCATTERED SNOW
SHOWERS FRIDAY AFTERNOON.
