Hi all,
I'm wondering if there are a few people out there interested in helping us out for the 3rd annual Tanana River Challenge? It's a ski, skijor, bike, running race that will start and end at the Tanana boat launch (Chena Pump Rd.) on Saturday March 14th. We're looking for additional help at the checkpoints and start/finish area. We have two people at each checkpoint, but our latest registration shows 85 people so a few extra hands at the checkpoints would go a long way. Checkpoint help involves snowmachining to the location, setting up tents, tables, food; marking off racers as they come in and leave; and having an enjoyable day in the outdoors.
This years' race has 45 mile and 25 mile option and starts on the Tanana, where it heads downriver before heading north into the Rosie Creek forest where it will then do a big loop and meet back up on the Tanana and back to the boat launch. The race website is www.tananariverchallenge.org.
If you're interested please contact our volunteer coordinator Eric Zucker at 907-388-6146.
Thanks,
Matt Sprau

Hey Matt
The 14th is also the SnoRondy event that the club participates in @ Chena Lakes. Just so you know a lot of us will there.

Due to some medical issues and prior commitments we are most likely going to be a little short handed at the Rondy this year. We keep hearing that folks want more club events throughout the year but without helping hands that is impossible. The Rondy has been going on for quite a few years now, the same folks generally step up to make it happen. If this event is going to continue, we need some more folks willing to help. You will NOT be asked to break rocks with a hammer or drive railroad spikes by hand but you may be asked if you could help with the kids 120's or man a checkpoint for a little while, maybe something as wild as make sure there is some hot water for cocoa!!! I know, it's pretty crazy!
