March 23 Chena Hot Springs Ride
Chena Hot Springs upcoming ride this weekend. This will be the last official club ride in the Fairbanks area for this season. On March 23rd, we will depart Pleasant Valley Store (Mile 23 CHSR) at 10:00am. The plan is to travel on the winter trail, then onto the Stiles Creek trail. Total distance is estimated at 50 miles.

CHANGE OF PLANS FOR THIS WEEKEND RIDE AT CHENA HOT SPRINGS. We will not be departing from Pleasant Valley Store. During the recon ride today, we encountered a very large area of overflow on the winter trail, 6 miles from the store. We tried to establish a trail around it, but our boots got wet and it was not possible to connect back to the main trail. Tim's snow machine winch was used more than once today. The new departure trailhead will be the Compeau's trailhead at mile 29.5 CHSR 10:00am. We established a loop ride up to the Stiles Creek cabin. Total distance for this trip will be 25 miles.
