3-19-2025
Opening
The General Meeting of the Fairbanks Snow Travelers was called to order at 7:08pm on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at Alaska Fun Center, Fairbanks, AK.
Board Members Present
Chris Wolter, Tim Lokker, Melinda Harris, Diane Cryer, Mike Canady, Rich Doering, Dan Cryer
Topics of Discussion
1. Rides
a. MaClaren this weekend: 4 are leaving Thursday at 7am from the North Pole Safeway; 14 are leaving Friday at 7am
b. Joe volunteered to lead a ride next weekend (3-29-25) to the Tolovana Roadhouse. We will leave Fbks Just-A-Store at 8am to drive to the Monderosa near Nenana. We will leave the Monderosa at 10am for the 50 miles to the Roadhouse, then 50 miles back to the Mondo.
c. Dunkle Mine 4-5-25
d. Caribou Lakes 4-12-25
2. Website: Chuck Taylor has been working on it. It is more than just a skeleton now. The goal is for us to be able to process membership dues on the website and be fully functional by the beginning of next winter’s riding season.
3. Last weekend’s ride to Lake Louise went well. See the newsletter for details. We plan to do it next year also and hopefully make it to the glacier.
4. State paperwork is complete. Our Articles of Incorporation were re-filed.
5. The news that Compeau’s is being sold to Delta Power Sports was confirmed. DPS is buying all their inventory, not the buildings. “Compeau’s Points” will probably not transfer, so consider using them in the next month or two.
6. Summer ATV rides
a. These are not official club rides
b. If you have ideas of places to ride, let a Board Member know as they will be setting dates at the Board Meeting April 2. The schedule will be announced at the next General Membership Meeting.
7. Next General Membership Meeting: April 16 at Northern Power Sports.
