April 18-19 and 25-26

#1 Post by paulneva »

Just a heads-up... We had no ride leaders for the April 18-19 and 25-26 rides. To fix that, the board switched the Cantwell and Summit rides and changed Summit to Paxon. So, it wiil be Paxon on the 18th and Cantwell on the 25th.

Paul

So are these rides actually happening or is that just a proposed plan?

Thanks!

The 25th has a leader (me). The 18th still needs a leader. So the 18th is still uncertain but we have have a ride on the 25th.

We might be able to make the Cantwell ride on the 25th as long as the ride didn't start till later in the morning and the snow conditions are there. We could get there and be ready to ride by 10:30 - 10:45am (possibly earlier) and just come down for the day. We haven't done any off trail riding in Cantwell just yet and really am looking forward to going with someone who knows where to go. Historically what are snow conditions like typically that time of year down there?

The snow conditions can vary greatly depending on weather, warmth, wind, etc. This time of year can be some great riding down there. My advice is to plan for the worst (layers) and hope for the best. Oh, and make sure you have extra room for gear in case it gets real warm and you need to peel off a layer or two. Bring your sunscreen!!!
