Well guys, it looks like I won't be able to join you tomorrow. Re-aligned my ski's perfectly and made some adjustments to my clutch. I went to test ride her this morn when disaster struck. As soon as I started her up the throttle had gotten stuck open. Despite the brake being on the sled hurldled across the street faster than I could turn around. My hood is pretty much toast, nose pan is cracked all to you know what and the bumper is smashed in. Looks like another winter of no riding! I won't have the money to fix anything for a while.

Wow, sorry to hear that. I am as guilty as anyone but just a reminder, attach your tether cord to you. Last year, I was working at a dealership, guy goes out to load his brand new sled on his tilt trailer, long story short, his trailer was the launch pad. It bounced off the top of his truck before it pounded into the ground. Totaled sled, damaged truck and no warranty due to - no tether cord attached to him.

I think that you can still get aftermarket cowls for those old Polarisis, Check with Lyle Phillips, Phillips Rec. Or if you still have ALL the pieces, they can be repaired with fiberglass. They also make some very strong adhesives that can take care of the belly pan.
Sounds like we are just up the road, Give a PM if you need some repair instructions, I have some experience with fiberglass.

Change of subject. Here is my last word on tomorrow's ride. Forecast for tomorrow is:

SATURDAY MOSTLY CLEAR. AREAS OF FOG IN THE MORNING. TEMPERATURES STEADY ZERO TO 25 BELOW...COLDEST IN THE CALM VALLEYS. LIGHT WINDS...EXCEPT NORTHEAST WINDS 10 TO 25 MPH NORTH AND EAST OF FAIRBANKS.

The official cancellation remains the same, cancelled at -20; but, based on this forecast, I am planning on being at the Landing at 1000. If anyone else shows, we will go.

I just signed up but still not a member yet. After reading some others are in the same boat i am hoping to meet some of you tomorrow if its ok and get a form. Sounds like you have a great club going and cant wait till i'm a member. See ya at 1000

Took a more candid look and original damage seems to not be as bad as I thought. I'm gonna try and bring her out in the morn Paul and let you take a look and see if you think its ok for the day. The frame and bulk head seem to be intact. The hood split but it fell back together quite well when locked back down.The biggest problem I see is the foam pre-filter thing is exposed now.

I really appreciate everyone's support as I have had so many major repairs (everything not just sled ) when I tooke a MAJOR pay cut being forced to retire! I have all kinds of fibre glass repair stuff but I'm not that great with glass work. I can maybe pay someone in beer LOL if you are willing to help for a few hours. Anyway... Thanks again everone and this has been enough to solidify my decision to become a member!
